ACCORD Hospice’s dedicated at home care team has received glowing praise in its first official inspection.

The Care Inspectorate report highlighted the excellent standard of care being delivered by the ACCORD@Home service, which supports adults living with a life-limiting illness to remain in the comfort of their own homes.

The service, which was first registered in 2023, received strong ratings across all areas of inspection. The team was awarded ‘very good’ (Grade 5) for how well they support people’s wellbeing, how well staff work together, and how well care and support is planned. Leadership of the service was also praised, receiving a ‘good’ (Grade 4) rating.

The ACCORD@Home service is focused on enabling people to live - and die – in the place of their choosing, surrounded by the support they need and the people they love.

Jacki Smart, CEO of ACCORD Hospice, said:

“We are very proud of the Care Inspectorate report and the incredibly positive feedback for ACCORD@Home – especially as this was our very first inspection.
“These results are a real testament to the skill and compassion of our care team, as well as the leadership behind the service.
“But we’re not complacent. We will continue to listen, adapt, and improve so we can offer the best possible care to people in their homes, always free of charge.”

The report reflects ACCORD’s continued commitment to providing high-quality, person-centred care, wherever patients need it most.
