Hospice care is more than you think

Hospice care isn’t just what happens within our building. It’s happening every day in homes across Renfrewshire and East Renfrewshire - in local communities, on doorsteps, and wherever people want to be cared for. It’s supporting someone to visit their favourite café one more time, enjoy a garden they love, or simply feel safe and dignified in their own home.

We are incredibly proud of the work we do alongside our local community, and this week we want to celebrate:

• The thousands of visits our community teams make each year.

• The volunteers who bring comfort, companionship, and practical help.

• The families we support through the most difficult times of their lives.

• And the people, like you, who make it all possible through donations, fundraising, and spreading the word.

As an Individual

You can make a big impact on your own!

• Donate to support local hospice care - make a one-off gift, set up a regular donation, or give in memory of a loved one.

• Take part in an event - join one of our runs, zip slides, or walks, or set your own personal challenge.

• Share your story if ACCORD has supported you or someone you love.

• Volunteer a few hours in one of our shops or help at an event

With Friends or as a Team

Gather your group and fundraise together!

• Organise a bake sale, quiz night, coffee morning, or sponsored challenge.

• Set a team goal—steps, miles, or fundraising target—and work together to achieve it.

• Get creative with a themed event like a dress-up day or film night.

At Work or as a Business

Engage your team, boost morale, and support a vital local cause.

• Host a fundraising day - think bake-offs, raffles, dress-down days, or team challenges.

• Set up a payroll giving scheme or match employee donations.

• Become a sponsor or partner for an ACCORD event.

• Share your support online and inspire others to do the same.

At School or College

Get pupils, teachers, and parents involved in supporting hospice care.

• Organise a non-uniform day, talent show, sponsored silence, or bake sale.

• Choose ACCORD as your charity of the year or for a special fundraising week during Hospice Care Week.

• Invite an ACCORD speaker to share more about hospice care and how it helps our community.
