Support Services at ACCORD

Patient and client facing services could not do it without them.

A key component part of our ability to deliver high quality care and services to the people of Renfrewshire is the effort in the background from all of support services and teams who look after our finances, our facilities and environment, who raise money and who cook, clean and care for our staff too.

The finance team support the Director of Finance and Governance with all the financial functions at ACCORD and are responsible for producing the monthly management accounts.

Our Housekeeping Supervisor, Katie Kelly along with her team of five housekeepers

work tirelessly to keep all areas of the Hospice spotlessly clean and hygienic. Their aim is to ensure the highest standards of cleanliness are maintained throughout the Hospice and to prevent cross infections of patients, staff and visitors whilst maintaining a comfortable homely environment. The team is always flexible and able to respond quickly to any situation.

The team ensure all transport requests are met whether it is bringing patients from their own home to our Inpatient Unit or any of our other departments for an Outpatient appointment.

They are also responsible for assisting with the compliance of Health and Safety and the Prevention of Infection Control procedures by completing maintenance schedules and carrying out minor repairs throughout the Hospice ensuring all equipment and our environment is safe for all service users.

Our Catering department is led by Alex Sivewright, Chef Manager who is supported by two cooks and a catering assistant to meet the demands of the catering needs of the Hospice. Their aim is to provide varied and nutritionally balanced meals for patients, staff, volunteers, relatives and visitors. They achieve this by serving traditional homemade meals and snacks, using good quality fresh ingredients. Special diets and small appetites are catered for and we always try to fulfil any requests for tasty personal favourites. In addition to providing meals for Inpatients the Team also provides catering for Hospice Events, Education Sessions and other Groups who occasionally use our Resource Centre and meeting rooms.
