Have you ever thought about becoming a member of ACCORD?

Membership at ACCORD

Are you interested in having some input as to how ACCORD can best serve the community in the future?

Why should I become a member?

Membership is open to any individual with an interest in supporting the Hospice. We wish to promote inclusion and wider community involvement and therefore encourage individuals from all parts of the community to take an interest in membership.

How do I become a member?

ACCORD Members are recruited through a process of self-selection. Any individual with an interest in supporting ACCORD Hospice can put themselves forward for membership by either writing to the Company Secretary or completing the form below. Applications will presented to, and considered by, the Senior Management Team after which the Company Secretary will write confirming acceptance of Membership and enclosing copies of the latest Strategy, Annual Review and Newsletters along with any other relevant information. A list of new members will be submitted to the Board of Directors at each Board Meeting.

As a Member of ACCORD you will:

  • be expected to attend the Annual General Meeting to approve the Annual Report and Accounts, confirm the appointment of Directors, appoint the Auditors and, if requested, consider changes to the constitution and other special resolutions.
  • be expected to keep up to date with the work of the Hospice through receipt of twice yearly newsletters and occasional other mailings.
  • be expected to represent the Hospice positively at every opportunity.
  • carry a maximum financial liability of £1.05 in the unlikely event of the Hospice winding up its affairs.

You will also be invited to:

  • attend occasional receptions at the Hospice or elsewhere to be updated on events and developments at the Hospice.
  • attend or participate in fundraising events.
  • attend Light up A Life events in December each year.
  • help us make contacts and expand networks in support of our service.
