Physiotherapy
Two part-time Senior Physiotherapists provide treatment and support to patients within the Inpatient Unit, Day Therapy Unit, Outpatient Clinic and in the community.



Aims of the Service
Introducing Physiotherapy into the patient’s plan of care aims to maintain physical independence and maximise the individual’s potential.
Physiotherapy can help with:
- Breathing difficulties
- Relaxation for anxiety
- Difficulties with walking, standing, balance or transferring
- Stiff and painful joints
- Fatigue and muscle weakness
- Pain
- Swollen limbs
What You Can Expect
On the first visit, the patient’s needs will be assessed and a plan of care agreed accordingly.

Meet the Team

Ailsa Currie - Chartered Physiotherapist
Ailsa holds a BSc in Physiotherapy and is registered with the Heatlh Professional Council. Having gained experience working at the Beatson Oncology Centre before moving to ACCORD in 2005, Ailsa has a specialist interest, experience and skills in Lymphoedema care and management.

Sandra Lyall - Chartered Physiotherapist
Sandra holds a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy and is registered with the Health Professionals Council. Sandra gained experience in in Medical, Out-patients, Women’sHealth, Stroke unit and latterly in discharge/care at home team before commencing with ACCORD in 2007. Sandra has a specialist interest and skills in Clinical Acupuncture. The physiotherapy service also benefits from support from Shona Crain, Technical Instructor III (see Occupational Therapy service).

- Monday to Friday 9.00am – 3.30pm
