Strategic Plan 2017 -2021
In order to develop and evolve, a successful organisation continuously needs to review its strategy. In an ever-changing landscape we need to be reflective and respond to patient need, external drivers in healthcare and government strategy, quality measures, legislation and finance.
After such an extensive review we are pleased to present the strategic plan for ACCORD Hospice to cover the period between 2017 and 2021. The purpose of the strategic plan aims to build on the existing excellent work of ACCORD Hospice to ensure we are able to continue to grow and successfully meet the increasing demand for our services.
Developmental improvements in our services stem from frequent participation through patient feedback, audit, research and education. We need to be able to provide excellent services, but also be able to provide the evidence to support this.
This new plan, which takes us to 2021, sets ambitious objectives on how, working together, we can move closer to our vision: that everyone affected by a life-limiting illness should receive excellent palliative and end of life care, when and where they need it by the right person at the right time.
It is intended to give you an overall view of our plans for 2017-21 and reset our direction of travel. This has been led by our Management Committee and discussed with our Board of Directors. With their guidance and support we are now pleased to present our updated Strategy which we shall regularly review, monitor and report against, ensuring an excellent service provision throughout.
Our strategic plan has also been put in place to ensure we are ready for new ways of commissioning services and changes in funding mechanisms in the future, as well as looking at ways to grow public awareness of hospice care.
Please read on and then tell us what you think.
