Helen Simpson

Helen Simpson - Chief Executive

Helen trained as a Registered General Nurse and Midwife. Following 26 years clinical and managerial service in the NHS, she joined ACCORD in 2002 as Nursing Director. A graduate of Paisley University and the University of Glasgow, Helen was appointed Chief Executive of ACCORD Hospice in March 2012.

Alastair Crae

Alastair Crae - Director of Finance & Governance

Educated in Greenock and Glasgow University and commenced training as a Chartered Accountant in 1983. Moved into industry as a career choice after qualifying and now has over 27 years financial, audit, company secretarial and experience in the IT and Telecoms and Oil and Gas sectors.

Brian Hunter

Brian Hunter - Clinical Services Manager

Brian started his training in 1987, qualifying as a Registered Nurse in 1990. After 7 years of varied clinical experience he joined ACCORD in 1997 as a Senior Staff Nurse. The early years saw him graduate from Paisley University with a BSc in Palliative care and subsequently went on to achieve a MN in Palliative Care from Glasgow University. He became the Charge Nurse of the Inpatient Unit in 2001, progressing to be the Clinical Services Manager in 2007.

Barbara Garrity

Barbara Garrity - Finance & Support Services Manager

Barbara has the responsibility to ensure the effective and efficient provision of services including the Finance, Catering, Housekeeping, Drivers and Maintenance Departments at ACCORD. Barbara joined ACCORD in 2001 as a Finance Assistant, she holds the Chartered Management Institute Diploma in Management and Leadership. In 2011 Barbara was promoted and became part of the Senior Management Team and provides and receives support from the Chief Executive and Board of Directors.
