The Scottish Secretary of sate Jim Murphy MP and Ken McIntosh MSP visit barrhead Shop
The ACCORD Shop in Barrhead was visited on Friday 30th October by local MSP Ken McIntosh and by the Secretary of State for Scotland Jim Murphy MP to add their support to the "Make A Difference By Volunteering" programme.
They were delighted to meet some of our customers and volunteers and very happy to lend a helping hand in the shop.
ACCORD relies very heavily upon the support of over 350 volunteers in order to carry out its specialist care in our community. We recently carried out a study to put a value to this work and concluded that if no-one volunteered the Hospice would have to raise an extra £250,000 on top of the existing £2.4 million each year.
