Gift Aid is tax relief on money donated to UK charities. Your donations will be treated by HMRC as if you have already deducted basic rate tax from your donation can reclaim this tax to increase the value of your donation. In order for your donation to qualify you must:

Pay enough UK Income Tax and/or Capital Gains Tax to cover the amount of tax we can reclaim

gift aid donation

Donors who pay the higher rate of taxation can claim higher rate relief on the payments by entering the donations in the Gift Aid box on their self assessment tax return (Form P810)

Leave A Gift In Your Will

Legacy income has been key to the financing of ACCORD Hospice over the years.  It has enabled new and replacement equipment to be purchased and some refurbishment of the buildings and decor.

If you wish to leave a 'Gift' to ACCORD Hospice in your will please contact your solicitor and he/she will arrange this for you.  You may wish to bequeath a particular amount or allow ACCORD Hospice to benefit from the residue of your estate.

Past and present patients have benefitted from legacies and your legacy will help those in the future.

Please let us know if you would like some information regarding legacies. Legacies form an important part of our fundraising plans and we would be pleased to send you a copy of our advice leaflet. We strongly recommend however, that you should consult with a solicitor.

Celebration Gifs in Lieu of a Present

This is becoming an increasingly popular way of supporting the Hospice. If you are about to celebrate a significant milestone in your life yet do not want friends and family to send you presents why not ask them to make a donation in respect of your celebration.

If this is something you have considered, we are happy to let you have a supply of printed cards explaining your preference to friends and relatives as well as details of our FREEPOST address for them to send their gift to. All you have to do is write the name of your loved one and distribute the cards to your friends and relatives.

By asking people to send their gifts direct to the Hospice means there is less for you to do at a time when you probably have more than enough to cope with.

We will notify you of who has donated to us after all the gifts have been processed.
All you need to do is provide us with the following information:

     Your name
     Address
The name of your loved one
     Quantity of cards required

Giving in Memory

There are several ways of donating to ACCORD in memory of a loved one:-
Light up a Life - click here for more information - this is only available between September and December.

Justgiving 'In Memory' - You can now set up a Justgiving in memory page where all donations come straight to ACCORD Hospice.

By setting up such a page on the justgiving website, people can leave messages of support and you can see how much has been raised in memory of your loved one.

You can create an ‘On-line Memorial’ fundraising page for ACCORD by visiting www.justgiving.com.  This will give you a step by step guide to creating your own page

You can add a photo too – we recommend you do as it will encourage people to donate

Email the address of your page to friends and family who you think would like to donate in memory.

Justgiving charges a small transaction fee on donations. Money is transferred automatically into ACCORD’s bank   account – you don’t have to do anything.
