Hospice Partners Initiative

The Hospice Partners Initiative was launched at ACCORD Hospice's Education and Resource Centre on 1st & 2nd September. It is envisaged that this partnership project will be useful in the following ways:-

• to raise awareness of palliative issues
• to improve palliative care practice
• to develop a resource folder for palliative care
• to enable and promote effective communication with residents, family members and other professionals
• to build staff confidence
• to share information about best practices between specialist and generalist staff

Proposed dates for 2010

Registered Nurses and Care Home Managers who are registered nurses
23 August        
20 October
13 December  (joint meeting)

Carers, Senior Carers and Care Home Managers who are not registered nurses
22 September 
15 November  
13 December   (joint meeting)

 All meetings begin at 1.30pm and will end no later than 4.00pm
